Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in High Civilian Casualties, Including Many Children

Gaza City: A number of civilians, mostly children, were killed on Tuesday in Israeli airstrikes that targeted residential areas in Gaza City. Medical sources and WAFA correspondents reported that three children were killed after an Israeli airstrike shelled the home of the Al-Suweisi family near Jaafar Mosque in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. An Israeli airstrike on a home in the Al-Saftawi neighborhood north of Gaza City also left several civilians killed and others wounded.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, more than 70 civilians, including women and children, have been killed since dawn today following a series of Israeli air raids that struck homes and tents sheltering displaced families throughout the Gaza Strip. Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza has killed at least 53,573 civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, and has injured around 121,688 others. This toll remains incomplete, as many bodies remain trapped under the rubble or scattered in areas inaccessible to emergency and rescue teams due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
