GAZA CITY: Two Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Thursday evening, marking another escalation in the ongoing conflict. The attacks, which targeted a house in the Jabalia al-Nazla area in the northern Gaza Strip, have drawn international concern amid calls for a ceasefire.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the airstrike on a home in Jabalia al-Nazla resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to several others. The strikes have intensified fears of further casualties in a region already suffering from significant loss of life and destruction.
In addition to the airstrike in Jabalia al-Nazla, Israeli warplanes fired machine guns at residential homes in the Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza City. Israeli artillery also targeted the area surrounding the Abu Shereia office in the same neighborhood. An Israeli drone strike on a residential apartment in the Sheikh Radwan area of Gaza City caused additional injuries.
The conflict has re
sulted in at least 44,835 documented Palestinian fatalities since October 2023, with over 106,356 others injured. Many victims are reportedly trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
Despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the hostilities persist.
