Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in 18 Fatalities and Multiple Injuries

GAZA CITY: Israeli airstrikes have killed 18 Palestinians and injured numerous others across the Gaza Strip, with strikes hitting locations in Gaza City and Khan Younis. The bombardments have escalated tensions in the region, prompting international calls for an immediate ceasefire.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Israeli forces targeted the Al-Ayoun intersection, resulting in eight deaths and several injuries. In a separate strike near the Al-Lababidi intersection in western Gaza City, four civilians were killed and others wounded. The situation further deteriorated in Khan Younis, where an airstrike on a city center building resulted in six fatalities and additional injuries.

An incident involving an Israeli drone caused injuries to three Palestinians, including a woman, in the Al-Mukhayyam Al-Jadid area northwest of Nuseirat. The drone dropped an explosive device in a school courtyard that was being used as a shelter for displaced people. Additionally, Israeli artillery has targeted areas near the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza.

Medical sources have reported that since the early hours of the day, 52 Palestinians have died due to Israeli airstrikes across various parts of Gaza. The ongoing conflict, which began in October 2023, has led to at least 45,581 documented Palestinian deaths and over 108,438 injuries. Thousands remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to rescue teams due to continuous assaults.

International entities, including the UN Security Council and the International Court of Justice, have called for an immediate ceasefire and measures to prevent further genocide, emphasizing the urgent need to address the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The Israeli military operations continue despite these international appeals.
