Gaza: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) expressed deep concern on Saturday over the recent escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, warning that any further intensification could trigger a wider regional crisis with devastating consequences. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ICRC highlighted that the region, already burdened by decades of conflict, cannot withstand a new wave of violence, which would only exacerbate existing humanitarian emergencies and force more people to flee their homes. The organization's statement emphasized that civilians in the Middle East have endured repeated crises for decades and urgently need a break from the cycle of armed violence. The ICRC underscored the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law and urged all involved parties to focus on de-escalation, the protection of human life, and the preservation of human dignity. Furthermore, the organization reiterated its ongoing commitment to collaborating with p artners from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, who have activated emergency response teams on the ground to address the growing humanitarian needs.
