Reykjavik: Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs, ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬¦¡¬¦¾orger°ur Katrn Gunnarsd³ttir, confirmed Iceland’s early disbursement of funds to the UN relief agency, UNRWA, in light of the extreme humanitarian needs. This announcement was made in a post by the minister on her X platform account today, following a phone call with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Iceland greatly values the work Lazzarini and his staff are doing under very challenging circumstances, Gunnarsd³ttir expressed. Additionally, the minister discussed the critical need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and improving access to humanitarian assistance during a telephone call with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag.
