Ramallah: The General Supervisor of the Official Media, Ahmad Assaf, briefed Dominique Pradalie, president of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), on the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian journalists, particularly those working in official media. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this discussion took place during a meeting at the headquarters of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) in Ramallah, attended by Anthony Bellanger, General Secretary of the IFJ, and Nasser Abu Bakr, head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS). Minister Assaf emphasized the necessity of collaborating with international organizations to hold Israel accountable for its assaults on Palestinian journalists. He noted that these attacks aim to conceal the truth and hinder the global dissemination of the Palestinian narrative. He also praised Palestinian journalists for their bravery in documenting the truth and exposing the occupation's crimes, which ha s challenged Israel's ability to control its image in international media. Pradalie reiterated ongoing efforts to support Palestinian journalists, including providing them with legal and financial aid. She mentioned their collaboration with international institutions, especially the International Criminal Court, to gather evidence of violations against Palestinian journalists and ensure accountability. Furthermore, she acknowledged the partnership between the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and IFJ in securing protection and support for Palestinian journalists. The General Secretary of IFJ stated that Israel has lost its global media battle, having committed crimes by targeting and killing Palestinian journalists, especially in the Gaza Strip, while they were performing their duties.
