Gaza Leaders Back President Abbas’s Initiative to Assume Authority Responsibilities


Gaza: Palestinian headmen and notable figures of families in the Gaza Strip expressed their support for President Mahmoud Abbas’s initiative to head to the Gaza Strip, urging the Palestinian National Authority to assume its responsibilities in Gaza to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, this expression of support came during a dialogue meeting organized by the Palestinian Farmers’ Union on Monday. The meeting included leaders and notable figures from Palestinian families and tribes, as well as prominent figures from the southern governorates.



During the meeting, Ismail Jabr, a member of the Fatah Central Committee and advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas, conveyed the president’s greetings and appreciation for the attendees’ positions. He emphasized that the president has been unwavering in his commitment to ending the suffering and genocide in Gaza.



Jabr also noted that President Abbas has dispatched a delegation to Egypt to work towards putting an end to the genocide and addressing the needs of the Palestinian people.



Moreover, the president’s representative, Zuhair Mutlaq, affirmed that the president’s stance is rooted in his commitment to halting the brutal aggression and protecting the Palestinian people. He emphasized that the Palestinian government, led by Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, must fulfill its duties in supporting the Palestinian people amid the challenging circumstances they are facing.
