Gaza Death Toll Rises Sharply Amid Israeli Offensive

Gaza: At least 66 Palestinians were killed and 345 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli offensive in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 63,371 fatalities, with an additional 159,835 people sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

The death toll since Israel's resumption of the offensive on March 18, after a two-month truce, has also climbed to 11,240, with 47,794 others injured, as reported by the same sources.

Emergency services are struggling to reach many casualties and bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the enclave. The health authorities have stated that Israeli forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews.

Despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Israel's offensive continues.
