Paris: France has voiced its concern over the escalation of security tensions in the West Bank, following a large-scale offensive by Israeli forces on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, urging all parties to exercise restraint.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Jean-No«l Barrot will discuss the issue of settlement expansion in the West Bank with his European counterparts during the Foreign Affairs Council meeting scheduled for January 27 in Brussels.

France also condemned recent attacks that targeted several Palestinian areas, resulting in injuries to numerous Palestinians during the night of January 20-21, 2025.
The ministry emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and adherence to international law to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
