Lebanon: Lebanon and Israel signed a framework agreement on Friday following several days of negotiations in Washington.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Lebanese people deserve to live in security and peace. He announced that Israel and Lebanon had reached a framework agreement after talks in Washington, emphasizing that much work still lies ahead. Rubio described the agreement as a crucial step toward achieving peace between the two countries, while acknowledging that significant work remains to be done.
Meanwhile, Lebanese Ambassador to Washington Nada Moawad expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump on behalf of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. She remarked that the signing marks the first step toward restoring Lebanon's sovereignty.
