Foreign Ministry Condemns Israeli Cabinet’s West Bank Annexation Decisions

Ramallah: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli cabinet's recent approval of decisions aimed at deepening the annexation of the West Bank. The Ministry criticized Israel's actions as desperate attempts to impose a fait accompli through colonial settlement activities and to alter the legal status of the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry emphasized that Israel holds no sovereignty over any cities or territories of the occupied State of Palestine. As an occupying power, Israel does not have the right to repeal or amend laws, including those based on Jordanian legislation that form part of the legal framework of the State of Palestine.

The Ministry further declared that the approval represents a declaration of a full-fledged war crime. It called on states and international institutions to reject and condemn these actions and to initiate a criminal investigation into the war crimes committed by the "Settlement Division" and other official Israeli bodies.

Additionally, the Ministry stated that such decisions amount to a de facto annexation of Palestinian land, which contradicts the vision of former US President Trump, who rejected annexation and settlement activities. The Ministry urged Trump to intervene and exert pressure on Israel to reverse these decisions, which threaten security, peace, and stability in the region.
