Brussels: The European Union leaders have issued a call for a moratorium on military strikes targeting energy and water facilities in the Middle East. This appeal was made as part of the written conclusions of a summit in Brussels, where the leaders of the EU's 27 countries emphasized the need for de-escalation and restraint in the region. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the EU leaders stressed the importance of protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure, while underscoring the necessity for all parties to adhere to international law. The call for a moratorium specifically focused on preventing strikes against key energy and water resources, which are vital for the region's stability. The EU leaders also pointed out the significance of the EU maritime defensive operations, EUNAVFOR ASPIDES and EUNAVFOR ATALANTA. They advocated for the reinforcement of these operations with additional assets, consistent with their respective mandates.
