EU Condemns Settler Violence in West Bank as Unacceptable

Brussels: The European Union said on Tuesday that the level of violence carried out by Israeli colonists in the West Bank is unacceptable. In a statement by its spokesperson, the EU highlighted the increasing tensions and violence affecting the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, since February 28, six Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank due to settler attacks. Several communities have faced assaults, which resulted in property damage and the destruction of livelihoods. These attacks have forced residents to flee their homes, leaving them without shelter.

The European Union has called on Israeli authorities to take immediate and effective measures to prevent further attacks against Palestinian civilians and to ensure accountability for such acts. The EU warned that impunity in these cases could lead to an escalation of violence in the region.

Additionally, the EU urged the Israeli government to fulfill its obligations under international law to protect the Palestinian population in the occupied territories, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding civilians and maintaining peace.
