Jerusalem:Cairo Egypt has issued a condemnation following the actions of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who, along with hundreds of colonists and under the protection of occupation police, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This act has been labeled by Egypt as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the existing historical and legal status quo in occupied East Jerusalem.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Monday highlighting the dangers posed by continued violations that escalate tensions and threaten regional stability. The ministry emphasized its firm rejection of any efforts to alter the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque or to divide it temporally or spatially.
The statement further called upon the international community to take responsibility in halting these actions and to uphold relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
