DPWH to Fast-Track Skyway Stage 3 Section 2A Completion

Manila: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will fast-track the construction of the stalled 1.2-kilometer Section 2A of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3. During an inspection of the project on Wednesday, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the agency to expedite the project, which will connect Skyway Stage 3 to the North Luzon Expressway-South Luzon Expressway (NLEX-SLEX) Connector.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dizon stated that the project is currently at 98 percent completion. He highlighted the president's instructions to speed up the process, mentioning that the right-of-way acquisition had been expedited since early last year, allowing the project to progress at full pace.

Dizon further mentioned that the government is aiming to complete the project by mid-2027. He relayed the commitment made by San Miguel Corporation and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation to finish the project by the first or second quarter of next year at the latest.

Once finished, the Skyway Stage 3 Section 2A is expected to significantly improve travel for up to 30,000 motorists commuting daily between northern and southern Metro Manila, enhancing connectivity and reducing travel times.
