Death Toll from Israeli Attacks in Lebanon Reaches 1,142

Beirut: Lebanon reported on Friday evening that Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours resulted in 26 fatalities and 86 injuries, increasing the total number of casualties since March 2 to 1,142 dead and 3,315 injured.

According to Anadolu Agency, the death toll includes 122 children and 83 women, while the injured count includes 403 children and 456 women, as per the Lebanese Health Ministry. The Israeli army has been conducting airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2.

The ongoing Israeli offensive in Lebanon coincides with heightened regional tensions since the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, which resulted in the death of more than 1,340 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
