Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission Reports 900 Fires Set by Israeli Forces and Colonists Since 2023

Gaza: The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 900 fires set by Israeli occupation forces and colonists targeting Palestinian properties, homes, vehicles, and facilities from the beginning of 2023 through July 10, 2026.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, 799 fires, accounting for 88.8% of the total, were set by colonists, while the remaining 101 fires, representing 11.2%, were caused by the Israeli occupation army. The findings were released in an analytical assessment paper by the Commission, which identified colonist-led arson as a prominent tool used against Palestinians.

The data highlighted a consistent rise in the number of fires each year, with incidents increasing from 217 in 2023 to 264 in 2024, and to 307 in 2025. An additional 112 fires were recorded in 2026 up until July 10. A significant proportion of these fires-552 in total-occurred in the Nablus and Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorates, making up 61.3% of the documented incidents.

The Commission underscored that the persistent increase and recurrence of these fires indicate a systematic pattern aimed at undermining Palestinian security, property, and livelihoods.
