Jericho: Colonists, accompanied by their sheep, stormed the village of Shalla al-Auja, north of Jericho, on Tuesday. The incident raised concerns among the local Bedouin communities as the colonists roamed the area with their flocks.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights reported that the colonists, with their sheep, entered Shalla al-Auja and moved among the homes of Bedouin citizens. The organization highlighted that such actions are often conducted under the protection of occupation forces.
The Al-Baidar Organization stated that the colonists intentionally enter Bedouin areas to impose a new reality and expand their presence at the expense of the indigenous population. The organization's statement reflects ongoing tensions between the colonists and the local Bedouin communities, who often find themselves at the center of such disputes.
