Jerusalem:Dozens of colonists stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound this morning through the Mughrabi Gate, with heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police.
According to Palestine news andInformation Agency, this follows an incident yesterday where 1,500 colonists and rabbis entered the mosque, performing Talmudic rituals, especially near the Cotton Merchants' Gate.
These activities were accompanied by the introduction of "plant offerings" into the courtyards, along with chanting, dancing, and performing collective prostrations and supplications. These actions signify an ongoing escalation in the imposition of Talmudic rituals within the compound and attempts to alter its historical and legal status quo.
These incursions occur amid intensified military measures by Israeli authorities around the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, with restrictions on the entry and movement of worshippers.
In September, there were repeated incursions, including 480 colonists entering on September 13, coinciding with the "Hebrew New Year," and about 100 settlers on September 20 during "Yom Kippur."
Data from the Jerusalem Governorate reveals that 40,661 settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound from the beginning of the year until the end of August 2026. Additionally, nearly 800 orders banning Palestinians from the mosque were issued from the beginning of the year until early this month.
