Colonists in Military Uniforms Assault Electricity Workers Near Jenin

Jenin: Israeli colonists wearing Israeli military uniforms on Friday assaulted a crew from the Northern Electricity Distribution Company, briefly detained two employees and seized money from one of them.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the company stated that the crew was returning after completing fieldwork in Jenin and the towns of al-Yamun and Kafr Dan. While traveling along the Qabatiya road near the Arab American University junction, guards from the nearby Israeli settlement of Ganim intercepted the company vehicle carrying the two employees and forced them to stop.

The colonists proceeded to search the company vehicle and tampered with its contents. They also scrutinized the employees' mobile phones and identity cards and seized money from one of the employees before allowing them to continue their journey.

The company has condemned the assault on its crews while they were carrying out their professional duties. It called for the necessary protection of its technical crews, emphasizing the importance of guaranteeing their safety and freedom of movement. The company stressed the need for its employees to reach their workplaces and perform their duties without the threat of assault or detention.
