According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Bashar al-Qaryouti stated that the colonists took over the home of Mahmoud al-Tubasi's family after forcing them out following an over-three-month siege. During this period, the family endured daily assaults by the colonists.
Al-Qaryouti highlighted that the colonists had previously established a colonial post near the family's home, which they had set on fire. Despite these actions, the al-Tubasi family was resolute in their decision to remain in their home, facing severe hardships such as lack of access to water and food.
He explained that the colonists cut off electricity and blocked any attempts to deliver essential supplies, including food, water, and medicine, to the family. This relentless pressure ultimately forced the family to vacate their home, which the colonists then occupied.
Incidents of violence by colonists against Palestinians and their properties are common in the West Bank and are seldom addressed by Israeli authorities. Such violence often includes the destruction of property, mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops, and attacks on vulnerable homes.
Currently, about 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
