Colonists Enclose Bedouin Communities Near Jerusalem with Barbed Wire

Jerusalem:Colonists have encircled the Bedouin communities of Al-Mahtoush and Al-Tabna, located east of Jerusalem near Khan al-Ahmar, with barbed wire. This action is intended to besiege the communities, restrict movement for Palestinian residents and herders, and cut off vital connections between them.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency – WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that this development is part of ongoing attacks targeting the communities. These include blocking roads, preventing access to grazing lands, damaging water lines, and writing racist slogans. Such actions are increasing the restrictions on residents and threaten their continued presence on their land.

The governorate further stated that the barbed wire enclosure restricts the movement of residents and herders while allowing colonists to expand their activities. This is seen as part of a broader effort to target Bedouin communities and threatens to forcibly displace their residents.

Bedouin communities in the Jerusalem area and the Jordan Valley are facing heightened attacks and measures that jeopardize their livelihoods, particularly those involving herding and access to essential resources like water and grazing lands. Palestinian communities in these regions are also at increased risk of facing demolitions, forced displacement, and restrictions on urban expansion.
