Gaza: Israeli colonists on Monday besieged a Palestinian family's house on the outskirts of Qusra, south of Nablus, for the second consecutive day, according to local sources.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the colonists erected a makeshift structure in front of the house in the Jabal Ras Al-Ain area, effectively blocking access to and from the property. This blockade has prevented food supplies from being brought in and has restricted the family's ability to leave or receive visitors. During the siege, Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene, joined the intruders in prayer, and took selfies with them before departing without intervening to remove the intruders or end the siege.
The besieged two-story villa belongs to a Palestinian-American from the Abu Rida family, who currently resides in the US. Members of his family, including his brother and son, are currently inside the house. The family has been under threat for around four months as colonists have been attempting to storm and seize the property. To protect it, the homeowner's sons have remained there around the clock in shifts.
In addition to the ongoing siege, the sources report that colonists have repeatedly cut off electricity to the house, pelted it with stones, and besieged it on several occasions in recent months. According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands, and property in July. Among these, occupation forces were responsible for 1,458 attacks, while colonists carried out 798.
