Ramallah: Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, this evening. Amin Abu Aliya, head of the Al-Mughayyir Village Council, reported that the colonists targeted Palestinian farmers in the eastern plain area. Local residents confronted the attackers, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli occupation forces raided the village to provide protection for the colonists and detained two young men, Alaa and Hani Abu Aliya. During the raid, forces also fired tear gas, again with no injuries reported. Al-Mughayyir, along with surrounding villages and towns northeast of Ramallah, has faced repeated attacks by colonists, in addition to ongoing raids by Israeli occupation forces.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that Israeli occupation forces and colonists conducted 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands, and property during July. Of these, 1,458 were carried out by Israeli occupation forces, while settlers were responsible for 798 attacks. The commission highlighted that these incidents were most concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, with 260 attacks, followed by Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185, and Hebron with 170.
The commission emphasized that these statistics illustrate a distinct integration between military force and colonists' violence. The Israeli army provides protection and support, cultivating a permissive environment that facilitates the expansion of such attacks and perpetuates their consequences as a continuous reality on the ground.
