Ramallah: The Central Elections Commission (CEC) has officially extended invitations to diplomatic missions in Palestine and international and Arab organizations specializing in democracy and elections, inviting them to observe the 2026 Legislative Elections.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the CEC's initiative aims to expand participation in election observation, thereby enhancing the transparency and credibility of the upcoming electoral process. The commission has also announced that all media outlets, journalists, and local observer bodies accredited during the latest Local Elections will be automatically accredited for the upcoming Legislative Elections, eliminating the need for new applications. The CEC emphasized that all parties interested in election observation, in accordance with approved procedures and standards, are welcome to participate.
The CEC reaffirmed its commitment to providing a conducive environment for both international and local election observation and media coverage, which are deemed essential for maintaining the integrity and transparency of elections. It assured that observers and journalists would be able to monitor the electoral process in accordance with legal and approved procedures.
Furthermore, the CEC encouraged observer bodies, media outlets, journalists, and all interested parties to stay informed about accreditation procedures, legal deadlines, instructions, and other relevant updates by following the CEC's website and official social media platforms.
