Cabinet Reaffirms Rejection of Attempts to Alter Gaza’s Geography.

Gaza City: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, at the outset of the Cabinet weekly session, outlined the key outcomes, discussions, and efforts made at the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Strengthen Humanitarian Response in Gaza. The Cabinet reaffirmed intensified international pressure on the Israeli occupation to resume the entry of aid, plan for emergency relief, and reiterated support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Prime Minister extended gratitude to Egypt for hosting the conference, which brought together 103 delegations representing various countries, organizations, and international bodies. The Cabinet reiterated the State of Palestine’s complete rejection of any attempts to perpetuate the Israeli occupation in Gaza, reduce its geographic area, or annex any part of the State of Palestine’s lands.

The Cabinet was also briefed by the Minister of Social Development on the obstacles imposed by the
Israeli occupation on the entry of aid into Gaza. The Minister highlighted ongoing efforts and coordination with relief organizations to enhance aid distribution to those in dire need.

Accordingly, the Cabinet approved leasing an emergency facility in Gaza to mobilize and receive humanitarian aid. This measure addresses the pressing need for effective and streamlined distribution, especially given the occupation’s deliberate targeting of previous storage facilities. The Cabinet also discussed governmental interventions to address the aftermath of Israeli incursions into West Bank governorates.

Profound appreciation was expressed to all institutions and workers serving the Palestinian people, particularly the dedicated teams from the Civil Defense, the Ministry of Public Works, local councils, and key partners such as chambers of commerce. Their collaborative efforts in rehabilitating roads and infrastructure have been crucial in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people during challenging times
.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Cabinet extended greetings and appreciation to individuals with disabilities, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding their rights and ensuring their integration into institutional frameworks. This commitment is especially significant in light of the ongoing impact of Israeli aggression on Gaza. The Palestinian General Union of People with Disabilities estimates that the Israeli occupation has left over 90,000 Palestinian citizens with life-changing disabilities since the onset of its aggression on Gaza.

The Cabinet also welcomed President Mahmoud Abbas’s recent decree amending the State Property Management Law. This amendment introduces new standards to facilitate citizens’ ability to lease state lands, particularly in areas near the apartheid and separation wall or those targeted for colony expansion.
