Brussels: The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said the European Union (EU) fell short in curbing Israeli actions in 2024 and preventing the rising civilian casualties in Gaza. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Borrell added that the European Union has been unable to prevent the rise in civilian casualties, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza from escalating into a catastrophe, the growing tensions in the West Bank, or the Palestinian Authority from nearing collapse. Borrell further acknowledged that this inaction created a public perception that the EU follows a policy of double standards.
