Jerusalem:According to Palestine news and Information Agency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, has issued a warning regarding the escalating incursions by extremist Israeli colonists into Al-Aqsa Mosque. These actions, which include the performance of Talmudic rituals under the protection of Israeli police, are described as a blatant violation of the historical and legal status quo governing the holy sites.
Abu Rudeineh stated that these violations are an attempt by Israel to impose new realities on the ground, restrict Palestinian worshippers, and provoke Muslims worldwide. He emphasized that the continued attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, combined with the escalation in occupied Jerusalem, could transform the political conflict into a religious war, jeopardizing regional security and stability.
He further stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque, covering an area of 144 dunums, is an exclusively Muslim place of worship that cannot be divided or shared. Abu Rudeineh held the Israeli government fully responsible for the potential serious consequences of these provocative policies.
Abu Rudeineh called on the international community, and particularly the UN Security Council, to take urgent, practical, and immediate measures to protect Palestinian people and holy sites and to compel the occupation authorities to comply with international resolutions.
