CWRC Reports Seven Israeli Attacks on West Bank Farmers Within 12 Hours

Ramallah:The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) has documented a series of seven Israeli attacks on farmers across four West Bank governorates within a span of 12 hours on Wednesday. These incidents occurred between 6 AM and 6 PM.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the CWRC's report highlighted that these attacks involved bulldozing agricultural land, uprooting trees, dismantling structures, and destroying water tanks. Farmers were detained and denied access to their land, while livestock were released into olive groves.

In the Jenin governorate, Israeli forces commenced bulldozing operations on olive-planted land situated in the northeastern area of Tura village, without prior notification. In the Nablus governorate, four individuals were detained while picking olives in Burqa town, and olive groves were razed in the areas of al-Qalila and Ras al-Ain, east of al-Sawiya village.

Within the Bethlehem governorate, forces bulldozed a half-dunum plot in al-Walaja village, uprooted over 50 olive and almond trees, demolished a retaining wall and staircase, and destroyed water tanks. Meanwhile, in the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, livestock were released into olive-planted land in al-Mazra'a al-Sharqiya and Kafr Malik villages. Farmers in Turmus Ayya town were prevented from harvesting olives under the protection of army forces.

The CWRC emphasized the broader implications of these attacks, which extend beyond immediate harm to farmers to include the destruction of essential infrastructure for Palestinian agriculture. This includes uprooting decades-old trees and destroying irrigation systems. The Commission warned that these actions increase the pressure on Palestinians, jeopardizing their ability to cultivate their land and potentially expanding the areas they cannot access.

The CWRC called for international intervention to halt such attacks, protect farmers and their properties, and hold those responsible accountable.
