Israeli Forces Detain 20 Palestinians as Hebron Siege Intensifies

Hebron:Israeli occupation forces have continued their sweeping assault on the Hebron governorate in the southern occupied West Bank for the third consecutive day. The military operations have escalated with increased raids, detentions, and a tightened military siege, resulting in the detention of at least 20 Palestinians amid worsening conditions across the region.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, Israeli forces stormed most neighborhoods of Hebron city, conducting home raids and searches. During these operations, several Palestinians were detained following alleged abuse by the forces. In addition to Hebron city, the towns of Dura, Yatta, and as-Samu, located south of Hebron, were also targeted, where 11 Palestinians were detained after Israeli forces stormed their homes and mistreated them. Two more individuals were detained in Tarqumiya, west of Hebron, and additional detentions occurred in the town of Halhul to the north.

The military siege in the region has been tightened significantly, with Israeli forces closing all access roads to cities, towns, villages, and refugee camps across the governorate. This has severely restricted movement, as the forces pursue anyone attempting to enter or leave these areas. The al-Jilda and Ain Deir Baha areas of Hebron remain sealed off after the forced removal of dozens of local Palestinian families. Over the past three days, more than 200 families have been displaced, and 2,500 Palestinians have been forcibly removed from their homes in these two areas.
