Jenin:Israeli forces have initiated significant closures of roads and entrances to various villages east of Jenin, continuing their land leveling activities for the construction of a colonial road.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, on Thursday, the Israeli forces closed the Deir Ghazaleh road from the Jenin city side and blocked secondary entrances along the bypass road. Most gates leading to villages in the eastern part of the governorate were also shut.
Tareq Ighbariyah, the official in charge of the colonial settlement file in the Jenin governorate, reported that the Israeli forces prevented farmers from accessing their land in the town of Bartaa. This is part of military measures that restrict movement and deny residents access to their agricultural areas.
Additionally, for the second consecutive day, Israeli forces have been leveling Palestinian-owned land to construct a colonial road linking the illegal Israeli colonies of Homesh and Tarsela. This construction has disrupted the main paved road connecting the towns of Silat al-Dhahr and al-Attara, located south of Jenin.
Ighbariyah emphasized that the closure of roads and entrances, along with intensified movement restrictions, severely impedes residents' travel and complicates farmers' access to their lands, as the land leveling for colonial roads continues throughout the governorate.
