Ya'bad:Colonists have reportedly stolen 17 bags of harvested olives and specialized harvesting equipment in Khirbet al-Mak'hul, near the town of Ya'bad, west of Jenin. Local sources indicate the theft occurred on Thursday when farmers were attacked while working in the area.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, two vehicles carrying colonists surrounded the farmers during the olive picking process. The farmers were forced to leave their harvest, which was then seized by the colonists. The stolen items included electric motors, hoses, and harvesting sheets.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of increasing colonist attacks on Palestinian olive pickers and their property throughout the occupied West Bank during the olive harvest season. These attacks are often conducted under the protection of or with the participation of Israeli occupation forces.
The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) documented 409 attacks by Israeli occupation forces and colonists against olive farmers, their trees, lands, and agricultural equipment between October 1 and 21. Of these, 317 were carried out by colonists, and 92 by Israeli forces. The attacks have involved physical assaults, threats, obstruction of land access, theft of olive crops and equipment, and damage or uprooting of trees.
