Palestinians Join Olive-Harvesting Event Amid Tensions Near Tammun

Tammun:Citizens, alongside official and public representatives, took part in an olive-harvesting event in the "Umm al-Kubaysh" area east of Tammun, located south of Tubas. This gathering was part of the 2026 national olive-harvesting campaign.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the event was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Tubas Governorate, and the Commission Against the Wall and Settlements. Omar Bisharat, Director of the Ministry of Agriculture in Tubas, highlighted the campaign's goal of enabling citizens to access their threatened lands and harvest olives, despite ongoing challenges posed by occupation forces and colonists who frequently restrict access.

Bisharat also mentioned that persistent efforts by the authorities finally allowed citizens to reach and work on their lands. This initiative is seen as a way to strengthen citizens' resilience and their ties to their land.

Local residents expressed gratitude for the campaign, noting that it was their first opportunity in months to access their lands. They appreciated the joint public and official support for the initiative. Earlier today, it was reported that colonists had cut down about 250 olive trees belonging to a local resident in the same area.
