Palestinian Citizen Forced to Demolish Home in Beit Hanina

Jerusalem:Israeli occupation authorities compelled a Palestinian citizen to demolish his own home in the Beit Hanina neighborhood, located north of occupied Jerusalem, on Saturday. The authorities cited the reason as construction without an Israeli permit.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the individual, Fadel al-Rajabi, was forced by the authorities to undertake the demolition himself.

In occupied Jerusalem, Palestinians frequently face similar situations where they must demolish their homes under the pretext of lacking Israeli-issued construction permits. If they refuse, Israeli bulldozers carry out the demolition, often resulting in significant financial charges for the homeowners.

The issuance of building permits to Palestinians by Israeli authorities is heavily restricted, leaving many residents at risk of having their homes demolished or receiving orders to dismantle their own properties.
