Gaza:Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Shahin held two separate videoconferences with non-resident Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to the State of Palestine to discuss recent political and humanitarian developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory. The discussions also covered ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and mobilize international action in support of their legitimate rights.
According to the Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the briefings included non-resident ambassadors from various regions, including Africa, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. During these sessions, Shahin detailed the situation in the Gaza Strip, where ongoing violence and destruction have forced residents to endure a fourth winter in tents under dire conditions. Critical sectors such as health, education, and public services are failing to meet the growing needs of the population, exacerbating their daily struggles.
Shahin highlighted the necessity of activating the Board of Peace's work in Gaza and progressing to the second phase of President Trump's peace plan. She also addressed developments in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, focusing on issues like the Judaization of Jerusalem, incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, and continued colonization efforts, such as the E1 plan. Additional concerns included land annexation, forced displacement, home demolitions, colonist terrorism, economic strangulation, and withholding of clearance revenues aimed at destabilizing the Palestinian National Authority.
Shahin condemned inciting rhetoric from ministers in the occupation government that encourages violence against Palestinians. She urged the international community to pressure countries relocating their embassies to Jerusalem to reconsider their decisions.
The minister also highlighted Palestinian government efforts, such as reforms and diplomatic initiatives to secure Palestinian rights and strengthen resilience. She expressed gratitude to countries supporting the Palestinian cause in international forums and those contributing to the two-state solution coalition.
Shahin called for adherence to the New York Declaration provisions and praised countries taking steps to ban products from Israeli colonies.
