Jenin:Israeli authorities have issued a new military order to seize 741 square meters of land in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood of Jenin, classified as "Area A," citing urgent military purposes.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the military order, designated "33/26 Urgent/Immediate," was dated October 5, 2026. It targets specific plots within Basin 20071 and follows the path of a road in the neighborhood. This new order partially overlaps with a previous order from May 2026, which targeted a larger area in the same basin.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission noted that the newly targeted area is connected to previously seized land, and the order does not represent a net increase in seized territory. The new order is valid for 60 days and allows only 24 hours for filing objections after a site visit with landowners, a significantly shorter period compared to the previous order's seven-day window.
The Commission expressed concern over the broader impact of such land seizures, highlighting the interconnectedness of the targeted areas. They argue that these measures facilitate military control over territory and movement routes within the neighborhood, impacting the Palestinian urban fabric. The order is set to remain valid until the end of 2031 and does not amend or revoke the earlier order.
