Armed Colonist Threatens Bedouin Community Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem:An armed colonist entered the Bir al-Maskoub Bedouin community, located east of Jerusalem, demanding that residents evacuate the area, which he claimed as his own. The residents of the community confronted and ultimately forced the colonist to leave.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, this event is part of a pattern of attacks by colonists and occupation forces against the Bedouin communities in the region. These assaults have also included damage to local water sources, an essential resource for the community.

These incidents are part of a broader campaign aimed at displacing Bedouin residents, seizing their lands, and facilitating settlement projects in the area. In recent months, there has been a significant increase in such attacks, with 647 incidents reported last month. The majority of these attacks occurred in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, followed by Nablus, Hebron, Jenin, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem.
