Israeli Courts Approve Administrative Detention for Five Jerusalem Detainees

Jerusalem:Israeli occupation courts have sanctioned administrative detention orders for five individuals from the Jerusalem Governorate, with detention periods set between four to six months.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the detainees have been identified by the Jerusalem Governorate as Ayman Muhammad Abd al-Fattah Hawshiya from Qatanna, detained for four months; Ismail Musa Yusuf Taha from the same town, detained for six months; Samih Fakher Fakhri Abu al-Halawa from Qalandia Camp, detained for six months; Yusuf Abd al-Rahim Othman al-Khatib from the same camp, detained for four months; and Nayef Ibrahim Nayef al-Mahdi from Al-Ram, detained for four months.

Administrative detention is a military measure used by Israel that allows for the detention of Palestinians without charges or trial. This is based on a "secret file," and such detention orders can be renewed repeatedly.
