Hebron:Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinians from the occupied West Bank governorates of Hebron and Ramallah on Tuesday evening. The detentions occurred amid raids conducted by Israeli colonists, under military protection, who stormed the al-Ja'bari neighborhood in the Old City of Hebron, chanting anti-Palestinian slogans and attempting to assault residents. During this operation, a man and his sister were detained by the soldiers.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency - WAFA - English, another raid took place in the al-Arroub refugee camp, resulting in the detention of an additional individual. Furthermore, Israeli forces rearrested a former prisoner at a checkpoint at the entrance of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
The occupation forces frequently conduct raids on Palestinian homes across the West Bank, often triggering clashes with residents. These operations are carried out without search warrants, reflecting the military's broad powers in the area.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders hold full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians in the West Bank, leaving Palestinians without any input on the exercise of this authority.
According to the latest figures from Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,350 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons, including 350 child prisoners and 90 female prisoners. This figure includes 3,176 Palestinians under 'administrative detention', a practice allowing detention without charge or trial for renewable periods based on undisclosed evidence not accessible to detainees or their lawyers.
