Khan Younes:An Israeli strike on Friday afternoon resulted in the death of a Palestinian and left several others injured in Khan Younes, located in the southern Gaza Strip. The incident occurred near the gate of Wijdan Camp displacement camp in the Al-Mawasi area.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency, the strike targeted a civilian vehicle, leading to the reported casualties. This attack is part of an ongoing military campaign by Israel in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023.
Since the onset of this military action, at least 73,922 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have been killed, and 174,995 others have been injured. The extensive conflict has devastated the region, destroying 90% of its infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.
Following a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 11, 2025, Israel has continued to launch attacks, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,402 Palestinians and injuries to 4,881 others. During this period, the bodies of 834 slain Palestinians have been recovered.
Additionally, approximately 10,000 individuals remain unaccounted for, presumed dead beneath the rubble of destroyed homes. The conflict has also caused the displacement of nearly two million people across the Gaza Strip, with many relocating to the southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking a significant mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
