Ramallah:Israeli authorities revoked the diplomatic status of Dutch diplomats serving in Palestine. This move is in response to actions by the Dutch government against Israeli settlements.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the Dutch government imposed a ban on the import and trade of products from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. This prompted Israel to require Dutch diplomats in Ramallah to return their diplomatic credentials within seven days, after which their immunities will be terminated.
The Dutch ban, which began implementation last week, prohibits the entry, marketing, and sale of products from the settlements. This policy affects both commercial imports and goods in personal luggage. Additionally, Dutch companies are barred from engaging in intermediary services or participating in trade involving settlement products.
