Gaza City:A recent Israeli airstrike in the Al-Baidar area, southwest of Gaza City, resulted in the death of a Palestinian and injuries to several others, according to eyewitness accounts.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency WAFA, the airstrike targeted a civilian vehicle, leading to the death of one Palestinian. His relatives managed to move the charred body to another vehicle, which they drove near the US pier in the Sheikh Ajleen neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
Upon reaching Gaza City, the vehicle was targeted again by Israeli forces, causing injuries to several relatives of the deceased, some of whom were critically hurt, and further burning the victim's body.
Since the start of the Israeli military operations on October 7, 2023, a significant number of Palestinians have been affected, with at least 73,922 killed and 174,995 injured. The operations have led to the destruction of 90% of Gaza's infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.
Furthermore, following the Gaza ceasefire agreement on October 11, 2025, 1,402 Palestinians have been killed and 4,881 injured. Additionally, 834 bodies have been recovered, and at least 10,000 individuals remain missing, presumed dead under the rubble.
The ongoing conflict has caused the displacement of nearly two million people from the Gaza Strip, with most forced into Rafah, marking the largest mass displacement since 1948.
