Israeli Colonists Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque Under Heavy Police Protection

Gaza: Israeli colonists on Sunday stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that around 240 colonists broke into the mosque compound through the Moroccan Gate, carrying out provocative tours and performing Talmudic rituals. Israeli forces tightened military measures around the mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem to facilitate the entry of the colonists.

Groups affiliated with the so-called 'Temple organizations' had called on their supporters to widely participate in the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform rituals inside the compound. This action was taken under the pretext of marking the Jewish New Year, leading to heightened tensions in the area.

Israeli occupation authorities exploit Jewish holidays to close roads and impose restrictions on Palestinian movement across the West Bank, including Jerusalem. These actions exacerbate daily hardships for Palestinians, restricting their freedom of worship while facilitating the movement of Israeli colonists and confining Palestinians within their cities, villages, and towns.
