Colonization Planning Activity Intensifies in the West Bank Including Jerusalem

Gaza: Data from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission's monitoring and documentation department has revealed a significant increase in planning activity aimed at expanding colonies in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. A cumulative total of 100 colonization plans for 12,300 colonial units have been studied since the beginning of 2026 through September 13.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, in addition to the West Bank plans, there are 53 plans specifically focusing on the construction of 5,783 units within Jerusalem, falling under the jurisdiction of the occupation municipality. The Commission issued a statement highlighting that September alone witnessed the advancement of 12 residential plans. Among these, four plans have been officially published, involving 670 units-494 for deposit and 176 for approval. Furthermore, eight plans were included in the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on September 9, contributing an additional 1,670 new units across a total area of 1,761 dunums. This includes 1,105 units earmarked for deposit and 565 for approval.

The Commission further stated that in September, 749 units were examined with the goal of formalizing the locations of colonial outposts. An additional 464 units are intended to regularize an outpost under an existing colonial plan.
