Gaza city: Israeli occupation forces continued their operations of bulldozing and uprooting olive trees along the Jenin-Nablus road, near the village of Wadi Daouq, south of Jenin, on Sunday. The head of the Wadi Daouq village council, Abdul Nasser Al-Huwaiti, reported that the activity started at the Arraba roundabout and progressed towards the village entrance, affecting lands on both sides of the road. The forces have so far impacted an area of approximately 27 dunams, focusing on agricultural lands adjacent to the road.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Al-Huwaiti noted that the attack coincides with the approaching olive harvest season, a critical economic period for many residents. The targeted olive trees are mature and fruit-bearing, making the damage particularly significant. Over the past week, the Israeli forces have uprooted hundreds of olive trees along the road connecting Arraba and Ya'bad.
On August 6th, Israeli authorities issued six military orders to clear trees and vegetation from a total area of 310,868 dunams in Ya'bad, Arraba, Anza, and Ajja, within the Jenin Governorate. Additionally, they issued a military order to seize 3,536 dunams of land in Marqa. The military orders specifically targeted land in Arraba along the Arraba-Ya'bad and Jenin-Nablus roads, as well as land at the main entrance to Ya'bad and in Anza and Ajja.
These actions occur amid increasing attacks by the occupation on agricultural lands in the Jenin Governorate, involving bulldozing and uprooting of trees. Such activities are causing significant losses to farmers and posing a threat to their livelihoods.
