Jabal al-mukaber: Israeli occupation authorities today forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his own home in the neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukaber, south of occupied Jerusalem.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that the Israeli municipality compelled Shadi Obeidat to carry out the self-demolition of his home, citing the reason that it had been constructed without a permit.
Palestinian citizens of occupied Jerusalem frequently encounter such situations where they are forced to demolish their homes themselves due to the absence of building permits. Those who refuse to comply face the prospect of demolition by Israeli bulldozers and are also required to bear the substantial costs imposed by the municipality for the demolition.
