Gaza: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned Israel's continued violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and its ongoing aggression and alleged perpetration of further massacres against Palestinian civilians in the Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday highlighting Israel's consistent breaches of the ceasefire agreement stemming from the US president's peace plan. The statement criticized Israel for failing to uphold its commitments, undermining mediation efforts, and demonstrating what the Ministry described as a lack of political will to end aggression. It further accused the Israeli government of failing to respect its obligations and continuing a plan of genocide and displacement against Palestinians in Gaza.
The Ministry emphasized that Israel's actions, including targeting civilians, vital infrastructure, and humanitarian facilities, illustrate the current Israeli government's view of the ceasefire agreement not as an obligation, but as a temporary tool to manage aggression and reshape realities to meet its objectives. These objectives, as outlined by the Ministry, allegedly include prolonging the war, continuing genocide, and implementing plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians.
The Ministry called on the US administration, mediating and guarantor states, and the international community to take effective measures to compel Israel, as the occupying Power, to respect the ceasefire agreement and fulfill its obligations. It stressed the need for the protection of Palestinian civilians, ensuring the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, achieving a comprehensive and lasting halt to aggression, withdrawing Israeli occupation forces, and launching recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Concluding its statement, the Ministry reiterated its call for ending the occupation and realizing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
