Israeli Forces Demolish Seasonal Shelters for Farmers Near Jericho

Gaza: Israeli occupation forces demolished around 20 seasonal shelters used by Palestinian farmers in the Al-Makhrouq area of al-Jiftlik village, north of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, on Thursday. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Firas Jahalin, head of the al-Jiftlik village council, reported that Israeli military vehicles demolished approximately 20 shelters composed of plastic, corrugated metal sheets, and cement. Among these were three shelters that were inhabited. These shelters serve as temporary accommodations for farmers who arrive each September to engage in agricultural activities, tending to their crops and preparing their land. Jahalin noted that the demolition of these shelters will impact the farmers when they return next September, as they will find their accommodations destroyed. In addition to the demolished shelters, Israeli forces have issued demolition notices for about 40 permanent shelters owned by livestock holders in the al-Daisat community within al-Jiftl ik.
