Gaza: The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting hot and dry conditions in the mountainous areas and very hot weather in the rest of the country today, Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged, hovering around 4°C above their annual average. Winds will blow from the northwest, ranging from light to moderate in speed and occasionally becoming active, while sea conditions will be slight to moderate. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during the evening and night hours, the weather will continue to be warm across most areas. Winds will persist from the northwest, moderate to occasionally strong, with sea conditions expected to be moderate. The PMD advises the public to take necessary precautions due to the high temperatures. On Thursday, the forecast predicts that hot and dry conditions will persist in the mountainous areas, while very hot weather will prevail elsewhere. Although temperatures are expected to drop slightly, th ey will still remain about 3°C above the annual average. Winds will shift to westerly to northwesterly directions, maintaining a light to moderate speed and occasionally becoming active, with sea conditions remaining slight to moderate. The pattern of slightly decreasing temperatures is expected to continue on Friday, with a forecast of temperatures remaining around 2°C above their annual average. The weather will be hot in the mountainous regions and very hot in the rest of the country. Winds will vary from southwesterly to northwesterly, maintaining a light to moderate speed and occasionally becoming active, while sea conditions will persist as slight to moderate. By Saturday, hot conditions are anticipated in the mountainous areas, with very hot weather prevailing elsewhere. Temperatures will remain steady, about 2°C above the annual average. Similar wind conditions will persist, ranging from southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed and occasionally active, with the sea expected to rema in slight to moderate. The PMD has issued warnings about the potential dangers of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak hours between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Additionally, they cautioned against lighting fires in areas with dry vegetation and leaving children or elderly individuals inside closed vehicles. The public is urged to drink plenty of water and other fluids to stay hydrated during this hot spell.
