Gaza: Israeli forces began demolishing 12 commercial warehouses at the entrance to the village of Anza, south of Jenin, on Tuesday morning, despite the case still being under consideration by Israeli courts and no final ruling having been issued. Hisham Sadaqa, head of the Anza village council, reported that the forces arrived with two military bulldozers and proceeded to demolish the warehouses owned by Ayser Amour.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the warehouses contained equipment and cardboard boxes from a local cardboard factory. The troops prevented the owners from retrieving their belongings before carrying out the demolition. The main Nablus-Jenin road was also closed to vehicles during the operation.
Ayman Amour, the manager of the warehouses, explained that the structures comprised 12 commercial units, each approximately 40 square meters, with a total estimated cost of around 1.5 million shekels. Although demolition notices had been issued previously, an objection was filed, and the case was still pending in the courts, the demolitions proceeded regardless.
Amour further explained that the warehouses were part of an investment project for his cousin, Ayser, who resides in Saudi Arabia. These units were rented out as commercial shops, but the tenants had to vacate following the receipt of demolition notices.
